Meet the Family

jordan & daniela

We got together in 2011, our story is completely unique. Going back even further… We went to high school together and shared mutual friends; however, we never really talked. Jordan was a real smart ass back then and I had zero interest.

I (Daniela) graduated in 2010, my husband graduated in 2009. In 2011, I had gone through a breakup over the summer and decided to make that summer one I’d remember. I got a message from this guy (Jordan) and he added me on Facebook. Honestly, I was rude to him. I didn’t want to talk to him. I didn’t want a relationship… I mean, I JUST got out of one a month before and I really wanted to NOT be tied down that summer. Jordan kept messaging me and messaging me…. I was so annoyed. One weekend, I didn’t hear from him.. at the time he was in Japan. He’s in the military and he had just returned from a deployment and that’s where he was located (so time difference was completely whack!).
Anyway, I didn’t hear from him and a part of me didn’t like that. I guess I didn’t want to admit that to myself? Who knows… but I had a dream about him.. and when I woke up, I realized I erased his texts so I didn’t have his number….

LONG STORY SHORT- he finally got back to me and I took that dream as a sign I should maybe see where this took me. I’m glad I listened to my heart. We were engaged after he returned from his third deployment at his parents’ house over the summer of 2013 and then we got married in Annapolis, Maryland on September 27, 2014.

AND NOW, we have a beautiful growing family!

oliver

This little man….. he’s such a HAM. Our sweet Oliver was born in Indiana on July 5, 2017. Watching him grow into the CUTEST and SWEETEST little boy is such a blessing. I wish I could pause the clock because time has flown by since he’s been born! Oliver has taught us so much in just the short time he’s been born. We love this little one more than we can even say.

He loves Elmo, Nemo, and Dory. He even loves Baby Einstein (he will watch it all day if I let him!). Oliver also loves books! He really enjoys turning the pages before mommy or daddy is even done reading the page.. haha!

In this photo he’s 6.5 months old. He’s getting his personality and I am absolutely amazed by the things he does and tries to say. Oliver never gives up easily… if he wants it, he’s going to try until he gets it. He’s also fearless. The ways he gets himself stuck under his walker or bouncer- hilarious. He loves bath time and splashing in the water and he loves getting chased by Tallulah. His laugh is contagious and it makes our hearts melt.

Youll always see Oliver with a smile on his face and ready to be the center of attention. He’s so amazing!

oakley

Oakley was my very first baby! I got him towards the end of my senior year of high school (2010), he has been in my life for SO MANY big things!

Jordan came into his life when he was 1, almost 2 years old. Oakley is a mutt- and I love that about him. He has some great dogs that make him up and he has all of their best qualities! He’s is a German Shepherd/ lab, pit mix! (His Mom was the shepherd/ lab mix and his dad was a pit.

One thing that’s cool about Oakley is that he loves to travel! He’s always down for a road trip or even a simple car ride down the street! If you say “walk” to him- he just freaks out. You better have his leash ready. He also LOVES the outdoors. In the spring/ summer/fall, you’ll find him just wanting to lay outside sunbathing. It’s almost impossible to bring him back in the house.

Oakley is a big baby when he’s inside, but also is the protector of the household. Don’t mess with us while he’s around!

tallulah

Tallulah is our wild child…. she’s always running around being a total goof, but she is SO loving and caring. Her mama instinct turned on big time when I was pregnant with Oliver and even MORE when we brought him home from the hospital. It’s the sweetest thing in the world. We love watching her and Oliver interact with each other.

Jordan and I rescued Tallulah in Washington, North Carolina right before we moved to Virginia. This girl had a rough start to life… once we adopted her, per the state of NC, all puppies must be fixed before the adoptee is able to bring them home. She was only 8 weeks when we adopted her and it made me nervous… well, I had a reason to be nervous. The doctor performing her procedure called me to tell me she might not make it because he ripped her one kidney. My husband was ready to get a lawyer if he was going to charge us but he did his best to fix it and she ended up being perfectly fine years later.

Tallulah is an Alaskan husky/ lab mix! I love my mutts!! She’s been such a blessing to have in our lives… she always keeps life so entertaining!
